Building a Culture of Safety
Job Site Safety
To achieve our safety goals, we implement daily safety pre-task plans. These plans are completed by each group leader to ensure that everyone working on a given task at the job site is aligned and informed. During these planning sessions, tasks are clearly explained, and we proactively identify potential hazards and strategies to eliminate them.
Furthermore, we require an Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) to be completed for each distinct task. All employees involved in a specific task must read and sign off on the corresponding AHA. TSI’s Safety Manager collaborates with the General Foreman to complete these AHAs prior to any work commencing. The completed AHAs are then submitted to the General Contractor for their review and approval.
Every shop and field employee at TSI holds at least an OSHA 10 certification, with the majority possessing OSHA 30 certification. Our Safety Manager is distinguished with OSHA 500 and OSHA 510 certifications. TSI employs Ironworkers who have either completed, or are currently undergoing, a comprehensive 4-year apprenticeship program. This program trains them extensively in OSHA safety standards, rules, and government regulations. They are also trained in effective housekeeping practices and understand the critical value of maintaining all tools and equipment in safe, working condition.
TSI also conducts regular, unannounced Job Site Safety Inspections. During these inspections, we assess critical areas such as the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), adherence to fall protection protocols, and good housekeeping standards.
At TSI, we believe that everyone must be held accountable for strict adherence to safety standards, rules, and regulations, whether they originate from OSHA, the General Contractor, or TSI's own policies.

At TSI, we cannot ever say enough about Safety in the workplace. We work in a hazardous industry that requires full time focus on safety. Therefore, we have worked hard to create a culture that embraces and enacts safety awareness. Accidents happen, usually as the result of risk taking, or our own unawareness that a hazard exists. At TSI, we utilize safe practices as we go about our daily business. Our obligation to ourselves and each other is to assure that every person in the company arrives home safely each day.
